We children's book writers are busy people. If we spend all our time following blogs, message boards, twitters, websites, and the like, we won't have any time to write.

Thank you for the lovely post.
I have one year old daughter who is very bright for her age and she insists that I read to her every night. At this rate I have run out of books to read to her. Can you tell me a good place to buy story books for children?
I always recommend independent bookstores, since the staff is so knowledgeable and will make recommendations. If there's no independent near you, look at http://www.indiebound.org/ which is the online home for independents.
